Our Property Services team is just as dedicated, looking after a mixed property portfolio of corporate and community based properties across the Borough of Ealing including the council head office and town hall, libraries, leisure sites, community centres and more.

You’ll be part of a team making sure that assets and equipment can be operated safely and efficiently across around 130 buildings. It will mean working safely and securely yourself whether you’re providing a proactive or reactive service, working out of hours on occasion and helping raise our quality standards even further.

You should bring with you a working knowledge and experience of maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and systems, plus a good understanding of Health and Safety procedures and considerations. Well organised, you’ll also be adept at working proactively and autonomously across a wide portfolio of commercial buildings. Lastly, your conscientious approach and customer service ethic will be second to none.

General Maintenance & Fabric Engineer
£28,605 - £34,944 (career graded)

Mobile Fabric Maintenance Engineer

Grade 6, 7, 8

Ealing Council Property Services delivers comprehensive building maintenance and facilities services to over 100 buildings across the borough. This is an opportunity to join the Fabric Maintenance Engineering team who carry out repairs and maintenance to building fixtures and fabric within the Council’s commercial properties.

You will:

  • Provide a high level of customer service to a broad range of Council stakeholders
  • Make site visits, investigating faults and carrying out repairs and/or reporting back required remedial works
  • Liaise and work in close partnership with Property Services’ mechanical and electrical engineering teams

Successful candidates will need the following:

  • full UK Driving Licence
  • experience of general building fabric repair and maintenance e.g. carpentry, decoration, tiling, plastering, repair to building fixtures
  • understanding and working awareness of Health and Safety regulations and systems including asbestos awareness and PPE
  • ability to work on own initiative and prioritise work schedules
  • ability to form positiverelationships with colleagues, work flexibly as part of a team
  • effective verbal and written communication skills including completing job reports in plain English
  • Experience using handheld tablet to review and update jobs
